Guitarist, composer, producer, and arranger Chieli Minucci<\/em> <\/strong>is longtime leader of the Grammy-nominated jazz-fusion group SPECIAL EFX featuring Chieli Minucci<\/strong>, a major force on the jazz and world music scene for over 40 years.<\/p>\n

Chieli has just released 3 brand new projects \u2013 \u201cReturn to Budapest With Love\u201d,<\/strong> the archived,\u00a0 1990 live\u00a0 concert recording of Special EFX from their early days on tour in Europe, solo project, and mainly acoustic \u201cSomeone\u2019s Singing\u201d<\/strong>, as well as his 40th<\/sup> anniversary Special EFX CD, \u201cTwenty Twenty 2<\/em><\/strong>\u201d (both ChieliMusic).\u00a0 Chieli & Special EFX\u2019s<\/strong> previous release saw title track, \u201cDeep as the Night\u201d, win Billboard Magazine\u2019s 2018 top honors, best-song-of-the-year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Besides writing and performing his own music, Chieli shares his guitar brilliance throughout the entertainment world. He has recorded and performed with many top artists, such as Celine Dion, Lou Reed, Lionel Richie, Jennifer Lopez, Jewel, Marc Anthony, Michael Bolton,\u00a0Rupert Holmes, Eartha Kitt, Eddie Fisher, Anastasia, as well as contemporary jazz artists Kirk Whalum, Maysa, Jeff Lorber, Norman Brown, Bernie Williams, Marion Meadows, Lao Tizer, Mindi Abair, Rick Braun, Gerald Veasley, Omar Hakim, and many others.\u00a0 Although renowned in the jazz and pop world, Chieli is also a gifted television and film composer. Chieli comes from a musical background. His father, Ulpio Minucci (concert pianist\/composer) wrote the American songbook standard, and 1955 hit song, \u201cDomani\u201d\u00a0(sung by Julius LaRosa as well as Bing Crosby),\u00a0as well as \u201cA Thousand Thoughts of You,\u201d and \u201cFelicia\u201d (both sung by Nat King Cole).<\/p>\n

Also known as a composer for television and film, Minucci has won three\u00a0Emmy Awards, in 1998, 2007, and 2008, and in addition\u00a0has been nominated for 10 Emmy Awards\u00a0for his eclectic compositional work on CBS\u2019s “The Guiding Light”, which holds the record as the longest running TV show in American history. \u00a0He has written music for well-known programs such as Dancing With the Stars, American Idol,\u00a0Good Morning America (theme), Bloomberg Radio (theme), Access Hollywood, The 700 Club, and others. He also\u00a0contributed music to the soundtracks of\u00a0Bowfinger<\/em><\/strong> (1999 Universal), Legally Blonde <\/em><\/strong>(2001 MGM),\u00a0 and Panic <\/em><\/strong>(2000 Artisan).<\/p>\n

Minucci composed and produced the soundtracks for the Broadway Across America\/Nickelodeon live stage productions of the international\u00a0hit TV series, Dora the Explorer<\/strong> (Dora\u2019s Pirate Adventure, The City of Lost Toys, <\/em>and Return to the City of Lost Toys<\/em><\/strong>), all of which toured. \u00a0He also wrote and recorded original songs for the live stage production of Thomas & Friends Live<\/strong>™, (both Thomas Saves The Day!<\/em><\/strong> and A Circus Comes to Town<\/strong><\/em>). Most recently he has contributed to the score of Peter Pan 360<\/strong> (Herrick Entertainment\/Threesixty Entertainment), which premiered in June of 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n
